This is my big one year old, Elsie! Disclaimer: This post has a lot of pictures. I might have gone a little picture happy:)
Birthday Banner, thank you pinterest.. seriously, what did we do without it?
Elsie's birthday dress. This is after church. I wish I could say I made her a cute bow to go with the dress. In reality, her hair is post spiky do, and who wants to fight a one year old to wear the shoes that were supposed to go with it anyway?
Elsie was spoiled!!!
Elsie's 'smash' cake!!
Elsie isn't officially walking everywhere yet, but she can take quite a few steps on her own!
We just had Christmas and Elsie was pretty stocked up on toys and new clothes. We also just moved to B to the illings!! and got an apartment with a bedroom for Elsie! Yes, she is one, and she finally has her own room! I'm just a little bit excited about this. So I decided to make some things for her room... an "E" and a picture of the temple. I have to give credit to Derrik... he pretty much made the whole temple picture because I was busy with everything else. He did so good on it too, I love the way it turned out!
Elsie's cake! It took a long time. I don't know if I will ever do it again. But I will probably will. ha ha.
Camille works at Party America, and guess who whipped up this amazing bouquet? I think she should get a raise, I was deeply satisfied.
I was slightly disappointed in Elsie's cake smashing, or lack thereof. I wanted her to go for it and get so messy! Why is it when I tell her not to get into something she does and when I put it right in front of her she just stares at it? I do think she liked it though, and after a while she was chowin down!
Elsie's party was on a Sunday because my parents, and Derrik all left for the week! So, for Elsie's actual birthday, it was just me and her.. lucky Elsie. I tried to make it a special day. I made her a special lunch, gave her a cupcake with a candle and sang to her again, and I painted her toes! Because one year olds love to get their toes painted! (yeah right)

We love our little Elsie girl, she is perfect!
We also celebrated my mom's birthday the day before Elsie's and Camille had the idea to make these owl cupcakes in honor of my mom's love of birds! ha ha, they were a hit! We love you mom!!! Happy Birthday to you too!

I didn't know you moved to Billings?! Was it for a job? How exciting! Elsie is so adorable! And so are you! You are so talented making cakes, dresses, pictures! I bet there's nothing you can't do!

ReplyDeleteHow are you enjoying Billings? We're still hoping we will all be here in Pocatello for grad school this fall, but it's not looking too good for Jordan. But who knows, maybe :)
OH Clairsky's, I love it all! The cake, the dress, the banner, the picture presents, what am I forgetting...it was just all too cute! We can't wait to move to B to the illings (okay I'm still laughing about that!) so we can see you guys and little Elsie girl as much as we want! She is such a little sweetie. And I really can't stop laughing about moms owl cookies, good one guys, so fitting...whoo whoo, ha ha ha!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Claire! you survived your first party!!! It was all So DARLING!! I'm with Krista, the dress, the picture presents ect. ect.... the heart cakes were amazing! My kids never dug into there cakes either ha ha! And just when I thought that you were so amazing for all that you did the icing on the cake was certainly the owl cupcake LOL!!! Clever girls, clever!!! I'm just so jealous that you and K to the Rista will get to be together in B to the Illings!! I plan on some extended stays at moms this Summer fo sure!!! Happy Birthday Elsie, we love you So much!!!!
